Design Approach & Considerations

Impact

The dynamic Form & Character of this specialized hospital was generated from the existence of two primary streets that embody physical, visual and intellectual links with the urban context. The project is located in one of the prestigious zones in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and covers a total area of 21,000m². The concept was to create a high end luxurious hospital with some retail, the site was visioned with a well-defined focal point that forms unity, harmony and flow between the external, internal spaces and the existing urban situation. A simple combination between triangle and circle formed this shape; the circle provided the project with the best light, views and openness facing the two main streets.

Function

By following the codes and standards the hospital formed a high end Main Entrance & Retail section in the ground floor, laboratories and administration in first floor, GAMA and FAL Outpatient clinics in second and third floors, Inpatient wards and operation rooms in fourth and fifth floors. The treatments are aesthetically appealing, with an interesting interior spaces where the spirit and essence of the place move the emotions of users.

Durability

The design and orientation of the building takes into consideration the climatic conditions, it is developed using sustainable materials and systems to reduce solar gain and achieve high quality adaptive design.
